Day 1: Farap-Mary-Merv (290 km)
Early morning departure to the border Uzb-Turkmenistan. Arrival to the border post Farap. After migration formalities drive to Mary via Ancient MERV (UNESCO) for an excursion. Check in the hotel. Visit Russian Orthodox church, Juma Mosque and Central Bazaar. Overnight.
Day 2: Mary-Ashgabat (flight)
After early breakfast drive to airport for a flight to Ashgabat (09:00). Transfer to hotel upon arrival. Check in hotel. City tour with visits National museum, Neutrality Arch, Independence Park. After drive to Nissa (UNESCO) and Mosque-Mausoleum Turkmenbashi. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight.
Day 3: Ashgabat-Darwaza (270 km)
After breakfast, Wedding Palace viewpoint, Earthquake Memorial, drive to Horses Monument. After drive to Anau Mosque Ruins and Akal-Teke horse stables. After lunch time, drive to Darwaza gas crater in the Karakum desert, visit mud and water craters on the way. Arrival in Darwaza gaz crater before sunset (~1800h). BBQ dinner, discover the burning gas crater by nighttime. Overnight in tents near the crater.
Day 4: Darwaza – Shavat – Khiva (370 km)
In the morning, after breakfast, depart Darwaza gaz crater and drive to Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan, border point to Khiva city. Pass the border and continue to Khiva.
