Day 1: Arrival Dushanbe
Arrival to Dushanbe by timetable. Meeting at the airport by local team. Full day tour Dushanbe: Tajikistan United Museum includes the exhibits on history, natural history and art, Buddha in Nirvana is one of the valuable exhibits of museum / CLOSED ON MONDAY. Botanical garden-very beautiful garden with many old trees is the favorite place of Tajiks. Bazaar- an oriental market is the most crowded place in the city, Hissar fortress the remains of an 18th century fortress, occupied until 1924 is located in 30 km west of Dushanbe. Beside the fortress are two plain Madrassah, one dating from the 18th century and the other 19th, and beyond them is the mausoleum of 16th century. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation. Day 2: Dushanbe – Iskandarkul Lake (130 km 3-4 hrs)
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to high Mountain lake – Iskanderkul (2 255 m. a. s. l.). It is situated in the famous Fan Mountains. This fabulous area is one of the best places of Central Asia. The road to the lakes goes through Istiklol tunnel (2630m) with amazing panorama views. After arrival to the lake you will go for a walk along it beaches. This is an amazing place to have a rest. Tajikistan takes the second place among the CIS countries for volume of water resources: it has the highest water reserves of all Central Asian countries with more than 1 000 rivers, 2 000 lakes and 8000 glaciers. You can hike 40 minutes to see a waterfall. Overnight in a cottage.
Day 3: Iskandarkul – Penjikent (260 km 5-6 hrs)
Breakfast. Drive to Penjikent city via Istaravshan. Arrival and visit Penjikent: Museum of Rudaki – As Penjikent is a birthplace of Abu Abdallah Rudaki, considered by many to be the father of Persian Poetry. Ancient Penjikent – ruins of old Sogdian town founded in 5th century and abandoned in the 8th century by Arabs. Foundations of houses, a citadel with a couple of Zoroastrian fire temples and city bazaar are visible in the excavated ruins. Dinner and overnight in guest house
Day 4: Penjikent – Haf Kul – Samarkand (80km+80 km+60km)
Breakfast. Drive to Seven Lakes. Sarazm ruins. Sarazm one of the ancient settlement in Central Asia with 5500 years civilization. In 2010 the Sarazm was added to the list of the Human heritage by UNESCO. Haf Kul-seven lakes of different colors in mountains of Tajikistan. See 1.Mijgon, 2. Soya, 3. Hushyor, 4. Nophin lakes (2139m.a.l), Khurdak, 6.Marguzor, 7.Hazorchashma lakes (2400m a.s.l.). PM. Picnic at lake. lunch transfer to “Jartepa” land border and formalities; meet local driver and guide and further transfer to Samarkand. Upon arrival accommodation at the hotel, rest and overnight.
